Count Day!
Good attendance is the key to school success. At BCPS, we know that every day counts and hope to see our Bearcats in the classroom every day possible — especially on Count Day on Wednesday, February 12!
February 12 is the day the state uses to “count” the BCPS students in each of our schools. All public schools in Michigan receive state funding based on the number of students attending — so it’s important that all of our Bearcats attend school all day on February 12. The state-issued funding is calculated using the number of students in each district, so each student out of school on Count Day means a reduction in the critical funds our district needs to continue providing students with outstanding learning experiences.
Make a plan to attend school on Count Day. Will we see your student there on Wednesday, February 12?
If you are facing barriers that make it harder for your student to get to school, we're here to help!
